AACCI Forum & Expo Committee has rescheduled the date of the Forum & Expo, previously to be held in Melbourne on 25 and 26 October 2010, to 5 and 6 May 2011. This decision was made due to the uncertainty of a formation of a federal government which has impacted on the preparations for the Forum - namely being unable to confirm the attendance of Ministers and no accurate indication as to when this will be possible to occur. Consequently, we are unable to request that the government issue the Guest-of –Government invitations necessary to secure the attendance of VIP guests including the Head of the Arab League, Amr Moussa. Due to this political uncertainty, many of the trade delegations expected to participate in the Forum and Expo are now reluctant to confirm their attendance. We believe that postponing the date until next year will allow these important preparations to be achieved and in turn make the Forum and Expo an exceptional event for both domestic and international delegates. AACCI apologies for any inconvenience to currently registered delegates and advises that a representative will be in touch shortly to offer delegates options regarding their registration. It is with great pleasure that the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI), invites you to participate in the Inaugural Australia Arab Business Forum & Expo in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on Thursday 5 May and Friday 6 May 2011. This landmark event is driven by the Chamber’s principal objective of promoting and facilitating two-way trade and investment between Australia and the Arab countries. An array of expert speakers will communicate their views and analysis on building future business prospects and bilateral trade opportunities between Australia and the Arab World, post the global economic downturn. This event will highlight the importance of Australia’s links with the Arab countries and provide an information resource for Australian and Arab companies thinking of expanding their horizons and business opportunities. It is expected to attract an extensive range of Arab business and official visitors to Australia and will provide a unique opportunity for Australian and Arab companies to exhibit their products and services, network with potential clients, and gain access to valuable commercial intelligence, including identification of the potential for two-way investment and knowledge transfer. It is envisaged that inbound business missions from the Arab World will attend the international forum and expo and this will provide the opportunity for individual business matching and networking on the margins of the forum. And what will become the one industry event not to be missed – “The Conference Dinner” will be held on the evening of Thursday 5th May in the Latrobe Ballroom of the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. It is our pleasure to host the conference in Melbourne, Victoria's capital city and home to the prestigious Melbourne Cup and Spring Racing Carnival. Melbourne abounds with majestic shopping avenues and hidden laneways, exclusive restaurants and stylish clothing boutiques. It is Australia’s sporting and cultural capital and offers a broad range of accommodation options within the city’s CBD. The conference venue is at the Paris end of Collins Street, in the heart of the premier shopping, dining and theatre district, just minutes from the famous Cricket Ground. I look forward to seeing you at the Sofitel Melbourne on
Collins in May.
